THE PURPOSE OF THE TECHNICAL DELIVERY MANAGER WILL BE:

To effectively manage all aspects of engineering delivery and the implementation of software development projects through each stage of the project life cycle in order to ensure in time, to budget and to expected quality of delivery.

WE’D LIKE TO MEET A TECHNICAL DELIVERY MANAGER WITH:

• Relevant experience of project delivery in an Agile environment.
• Extensive experience in managing the delivery of multiple, high value software implementation deliveries either within a professional software house or a technology related consulting practice.
• Involvement in leading and delivering complex projects using leading edge technologies within time, financial and qualitative parameters.
• Support of multiple cross location, multi-disciplined teams delivering technical solutions across a variety of platforms.
• Extensive experience in leading the development of appropriate, commercially robust technical solutions that meet customer needs and expectations and which can be delivered within cost and resource constraints.
• Highly developed understanding of project implementation and or system integration techniques.

Desired skills
• Member of an appropriate professional body (e.g. PRINCE 2).

• Experience of transitioning organisations from a Waterfall to an Agile delivery method.

THE TECHNICAL DELIVERY MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Ensure all engineering deliveries are managed to SSP standards and reporting is completed to all stakeholders.
• For Client Projects, to support the project manager throughout the stage gate process, having a detailed understanding the Project Management Framework and providing required supporting artefacts.
• Have detailed understanding of PM framework and deliver the teams input.
• Ensure costs, timescales and budgets are signed off, executed and controlled correctly.
• Be the focal point for Engineering for senior management steering groups.
• Ensure all stakeholders are kept up to date and relationships are built so that you are the initial escalation point for all deliveries for the client.
• To provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to delivery team members that increases individual and team effectiveness.
• To ensure that delivery team performance metrics are reviewed and acted upon to improve the overall efficiency of the project delivery team.
• To manage the provision of environments and automated deployment processes via the Managed Services and Dev Ops teams.

ACCOUNTABILITY
• To adhere to prescribed SSP development processes, procedures and standards.
• To be responsible for the software delivery of client projects from Solution Validation phase through to Project Closure.
• To ensure that realistic delivery and quality plans are prepared and maintained and to provide regular and accurate delivery status reports to internal stakeholders as appropriate.
• To manage escalated situations proactively, involving technical delivery management as needed.
• To be an Agile “evangelist” and to create a culture of continual improvement both within the delivery teams themselves and the wider Technical Delivery Management function through the sharing of lessons learnt.
• To execute and administer change control, and ensure that all aspects of delivery are completed within approved cost, timescale and resource budgets.
• To ensure that the highest possible quality standards are adhered to, in order to minimise rework cost.
• To Identify, assess and manage delivery related risks, including the development of contingency plans.
• To assign and monitor a wide range of tasks based on skills, experience and availability; clearly communicating task priorities, and adjusting workload as needed.
• To provide estimates for effort and time scales for engineering delivery to aid Project or Product Managers in costing the overall software development.
• To lead the estimation and grooming of the project backlog, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Ups and Sprint Retrospectives.
• To produce Sprint Exit reports detailing progress versus plan and effort forecast versus actuals after every sprint to ensure that the delivery is within set tolerances and to measure and report actuals versus estimates for all tasks and variances that are outside of those set tolerances.
• To work as part of a dedicated team, leading customer engagement.
• To highlight any innovations, suggestions or projects which would improve efficiency, professionalism or profitability.

Our team is growing, so we are on the lookout for an experienced Software Engineers to join our Engineering Team based in our Gurgaon office.

THE PURPOSE OF THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER WILL BE:

We are growing our Gurgaon office for Software Engineers who can contribute to the programming innovative solutions which will include projects across a variety of solutions in Digital, SaaS/PaaS, DevOps and Cloud in a global team. You will get involved in testing, module development in current and new environments, contribute to development processes, procedures and leading with examples and ideas.
As a Software Engineer you will be working with systems that deal with millions of insurance quotes a day and so, by using your knowledge and experience of software engineering, you will help the team continue to provide market leading solutions to our customers.

WE’D LIKE TO MEET A SOFTWARE ENGINEER WITH:

• Technical graduate- B.tech/B.E., or equivalent qualifications, plus considerable work experience in a relevant role. OR Substantial work experience in a relevant role
• Demonstrable 3+yrs practical experience in the development of software for external customers
• Ability to work within agreed time estimates
• Java/J2EE experience in developing scalable customer applications
• OOPS concepts, Core Java and various design patterns using JAVA (1.7 or later)
• Expected to be competent in undertaking a range of technical support activities. Extensive knowledge and experience of :

Technical skills required:-

1. Java, J2EE, Servlets and MVC
2. JMS, EJB and Web Services
3. Eclipse IDE, SVN Version Control and Continuous Integration
4. Design Patterns covering Factory, Abstract, Strategy and Repository
5. XML, SQL Server, DB2/Oracle, WAS and Apache/IBM HTTP server
6. Unit Testing


THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Contributes, matures the prescribed SSP development processes, procedures and standards leading by example
• Leads and designs new functional areas running whiteboard sessions, documenting complex and large developments
• Working closely with business analysts to assist in the requirements gathering and shaping process by bridging the gap between requirements and the art of the possible
• Providing application support for production environments for complex problem investigation to releasing emergency fixes
• Assist the development manager during planning and estimation sessions to challenge estimates as necessary.
• Coach’s team members when problem solving ranging from difficult business problems to performance tuning analysis and resolution.
• Ensures code reviews take place in order to maintain high standards for new and existing solutions.
• To adequately test developed software to demonstrate that components meet all functional and technical requirements and to ensure the software is of a high quality
• To take all reasonable steps to complete development assignments within realistic deadlines providing regular updates on progress
• To analyse and evaluate enquiries/problem reports and make recommendations
• Able to rapidly prototype new solutions and willingness to shape new solutions with their own ideas
• May incorporate career manager responsibilities. As a career manager, you will provide leadership, and functional guidance and direction to the assigned individuals. Your focus will be on mentoring and developing them to achieve their maximum potential
