We’re on the lookout for an Information Security and Compliance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of SSP data and client data, stored or used by SSP. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that SSP’s services provided to its clients are properly audited. The Information Security and Compliance Manager will set and monitor the legal, regulatory and contractual standards with which SSP must comply as a trusted supplier to the financial services industry.

THE INFORMATION SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER’S RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Information Security - General
- Identify and agree with stakeholders the security threats faced by the organisation.
- Maintain and improve SSP’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) to meet legal, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Maintain SSP’s risk register with the identified security risks, their treatment and revised ratings.
- Design and implement a program of audit and review to ensure that the ISMS is being complied with.
- Certification and Accreditation (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS etc.)
Data Security
- Review technical and procedural controls designed to protect data on a regular basis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal data protection legislation and compliance with contractual client data protection requirements.
System Security
- Monitor existing and emerging threats and update SSP’s security policies and working practices.
- Further enhance the SSP program of vulnerability and penetration testing by an independent third party to validate the integrity and fitness-for-purpose of the security policy and its implementation.
- Implement, review and manage processes to ensure that remedial activities identified by testing are completed as required.
- In conjunction with the product architects and product development managers, define the approach to be used by the development teams to ensure that security is built into the software development process.
- Understand and develop strategies to secure containerised and serverless cloud based workloads
Security Reporting
- Report to the business monthly on the status of SSP’s information security preparedness.
- Carry out appropriate communications to stakeholders on security matters, whilst educating the employee base on the latest security risks, threats, vulnerabilities and mitigation.

Qualification

• Full time MCA or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology)
Required technical skills

• Expert in software testing concepts, test scripting using excel, test execution & defect reporting

THE TEST ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Prepare (design, build/create and maintain) test scenarios/cases/scripts for Functional, Integration and Regression?test phase from the analysis of requirements document.
• Review test scenarios/cases/scripts for test coverage traceability and ensure that all requirements and supporting specifications are tested using the valid test cases
• Provide input into project estimates; provide effective feedback during testing phase. Support customer and project during UAT phase.
• Perform data analysis and use relevant tools and formats
• Assist the test lead/manager during planning and estimation sessions
• Test new functionality as agreed within the Business Requirement documentation – Liaise with Project Management, Customer or BA teams if required

• Triage issues reported by the support and verify the problem with relevant product versions and customers.

Want to work with great people in modern offices and have the opportunity to progress and develop your career? Our team is growing, so we are on the lookout for a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our Specialist Business Units Team based in our Halifax office.

The purpose of the Senior Software Engineer will be:

To be an integral part of an Agile Software Team in a senior role, leading the contribution of code and artefacts in order to support delivery of secure quality software.

We’d like to meet a Senior Software Engineer with:

- Extensive .NET experience using Oracle/VB6 or SQL
- A real passion for providing quality code in a timely manner
- Experience in working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work proactively and independently
- Working knowledge of the insurance or finance industry, or experience of working with any SSP product would be highly regarded

The Senior Software Engineer’s responsibilities include:

- Provide detailed advice and executes specialised tasks. The specialism can be any area of information or communication technology, technique, method, product or application area.
- Investigate corporate data requirements, and apply data analysis, data modelling and quality assurance techniques, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components. Provides advice and guidance to database designers and others using the data structures and associated components.
- Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs. Delivers technical visualisation of proposed applications for approval by customer and execution by system developers. Translates logical designs into physical designs and produces detailed design documentation. Maps work to user specification and removes errors and deviations from specification to achieve user-friendly processes.
- Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications. Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work.
- Liaises with clients/users to clarify details of requirements. Designs, creates and tests moderately complex, well-engineered information deliverables. Manages the configuration of documentation items and files, within own area of responsibility.
- Defines the integration build, accepts software modules from software developers, and produces software builds. Configures the hardware environment, produces integration test specifications, and conducts tests, recording details of any failures and carrying out fault diagnosis.
- Maintains application support processes, and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures. Uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports.
