THE PURPOSE OF THE PROBLEM SPECIALIST WILL BE:

WE’D LIKE TO MEET A PROBLEM SPECIALIST WITH:

? Experience of working on a Service Desk, analysing and resolving client issues.
? Able to work with different teams to deliver RCA for reported incidents within organization.
? Understanding of Incident and Problem cycle as per standard ITIL practice.
? Familiarity with the use of basic SQL and/or database manipulation techniques.
? Knowledge of Alerts/Monitoring tools e.g.: Solar winds, Dynatrace

THE PROBLEM SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Initiates and monitors actions to investigate and resolve problems in systems and services
• Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures
• Support the management of problem through their lifecycle, from submission to the completion and closure of the change request
• Support the Problem Manager in coordinating changes across SSP, ensuring correct procedures are followed, and changes are accurately recorded, scheduled and controlled
• Proactively check the status of problems and liaise with all areas within SSP to progress requests, checking status and chasing information where necessary
• Continually monitor the designated problem queue in Service Desk
• To act as a focal point on a day to day basis for all problem management enquiries
• Promote and adhere to ITIL guidelines, best practices and documentation, ensuring colleagues follow the guidelines

THE PURPOSE OF THE INCIDENT SPECIALIST WILL BE:

? At least 4 yrs. of work experience in a relevant role

? Knowledge of Insurance Industry would be desirable

? Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL standards, ITIL qualified to Foundation Level or significant experience working in a similar role in an ITIL environment
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
? Must be able to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining a
high level of service
? Organised and methodical in the approach to routine and administrative matters
? Should be comfortable with 24*7 shift

THE INCIDENT SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

? Ensuring that incidents and requests are handled according to agreed procedures
? Ensuring that documentation of the supported components is available and in an appropriate form for those providing support
? Creating and maintains support documentation

ACCOUNTABILITY

? Ability to investigate and provide solutions for issues raised either from client calls to the service desk or from internal sources
? Ability to produce clear specifications relating to user problems that ensure timely and efficient solutions
? Ability to recognise when a call is not readily resolvable, and how to escalate it

• Be the focal point for Engineering for senior management steering groups.
